Part of the most recent delay has been in the addition of a 'Status' button. I've posted a pic of the page below.
The 'Status' button allows you as the writer to turn on or turn off the 'Buy this letter and hire the writer to further compose it' and 'Hire this writer to compose a fully custom-written letter for you' buttons on your More About This Letter and Visit the Writer pages.
This button has been added so that you as a writer can turn off these buttons on your pages so you can go on vacation, take a break, or halt any new letter requests until you get caught up. Additionally, this feature prevents any writers who may have created an account, uploaded a letter and then for some reason changed email addresses used by LetterRep.com to announce new writing jobs, from getting hired for a writing job and the request just sitting.
Upon logging into the site your first time, you will be required to change your status from off to on in order to start receiving requests for writing jobs.

i.e. your post of The New LetterRep.com Client(customer)-side & The ...":
Yes I can get in with no problem now and yes I can write. But will you upload pending to active? I'm afraid to write for any requests as I have five letters sitting there from this past week end.

If it's any consolation at all, in the new site, you won't have to wait on me to get your letters approved.
The limitation on the new writer's side is that writers will only be allowed to write letters in response to direct requests from customers for fully custom-written letters, or requests for existing letters to be further customized; no longer can writers upload letters 'Not in reponse to request(s).' This is the only way LetterRep.com could protect itself from unscrupulous writers (none of this distinguished group) who might use chat to lure customers off-site, then return to the writer's side to upload their letter written 'Not in response to a request' to then begin earning. That feature has been removed from the new site.
When you receive a prepaid request (which means a customer paid through the 'Buy this letter and have the writer further compose it' or 'Hire this writer to compose a fully custom-written letter for you' links), upon clicking its link in the writer-side 'Prepaid Requests' page, writers will see a page where the category can be set, the title can be entered, the letter body (no limitations to format), the Writer's Summary or Excerpt (mentioned before) and any closing or acknowledgements can be entered. In addition, the writers will have a 'Save as Draft' link or 'Post to customer' link. When the 'Post to customer' link is clicked, the letter is posted immediately to the customer for their review. The writer will not be able to further edit the letter at that point. A text box appears on the customer's 'Letter Review' page where the customer can request additional changes. Two buttons at the bottom are 'Accept' or 'Request Changes.' If the customer 'Accept(s)' the letter, for custom work payments are made immediately to the LetterRep(any writer other than yourself who recommends the customer for this sale) and the writer (you who compose the letter). Custom work is non-refundable so once a customer clicks the 'Accept' button, the deal is final.
One note...in the case of prewritten custom letters (those letters of yours that already exist on the site as templates for customers to buy, LetterRep.com's attorney explained that since we do not letter the customer see the entire product before the funds are paid, we must give them a trial period. So, if after the 10th day, the customer has not requested a refund, funds then get posted for immediate payment to the LetterRep(for referring the sale) and the writer(you, for the sale of your letter).

I have successfully logged on to the writer's side, but do not see the 'status' button you refer to, Rob. Is this going to happen later when the site goes 'live'?
@Chaz,
I was able to login to your account and did see the Status button.
Please check again and let me know.
