LetterRep.com - Status Update

Hi All,

Not much to update, I'm sorry to say.

As one writer put it, we are embroiled in a 'database nightmare.'

It could be worse...maybe.

None the less there is so much data that must be considered and the construction of the old database was so specific to that site that rearranging the data for how business will be conducted on the new LetterRep.com site requires some very detailed programming.

If anyone is interested in the history of the old site, let me know and I'll be glad to tell you...probably not. We just all want it to work soon. I hear you.

Ensuring that letters are assigned to the correct writers, then ensuring the letters customers purchased are correctly assigned to their accounts are the two most critical points of our desired outcome. 'Un-knotting' the letters, and their associated assignments, from the live database is the biggest problem.

On other subjects, go ahead and answer requests on the existing live site. There is no reason we shouldn't continue posting there. If necessary, we will conduct a final import once the code is completed.

Okay, I got in today with no problem and was able to look around. I see what Chaz was talking about. It's a bit disconcerting to see your list of letters with someone else's initials next to it.

Ahhh the wonders of computers!

Recieved a prepay request via my email that I already wrote a letter for. It's still pending though. How did I see the request (on the old site) before I was notified? Or has this happened before?

I think the site will be easier to use once all the bugs are gone, any time line on the final product?

By the way, I'm off line after this. I just wanted to check in to see if anything new was happening before I signed off.

Also, I don't know what time 'blogger' is on but where I'm at it's after 7:30. The time on my first post says four something and I just wrote it a bit ago.

Have a good evening all.
